Mida ~ Sustainable Eco Conscious Silk Wedding Skirt

We designed the Mida sustainable wedding skirt to make use of all those small, but precious cuts and scraps that are the inevitable byproduct of dress-making. Carefully selected and cut in to thin, regular strips, they turn in to this eco-conscious wedding skirt after being individually stitched on to a sartorially cut silk base skirt, to achieve a flattering, slim fit, beautiful flowing movement and the interesting texture given by the feathery layers and their softly frayed edges.

The sample of this eco conscious wedding skirt features hues of color that go from a warm ivory to a bridal white, but it can be made in all warm tones or all white tones, or even including strips of color or texture. We have an infinite collection of tiny pieces of silks, of metallic fabrics and a whole rainbow of coloured silks left from our custom dying work.

I am already envisioning an Ombrè version, with the strips fading upward and the color melting in to white, strip by strip!

In these photos it is styled with the Ilex in shantung bustier and the Calliandra silk blouse. It goes well with all my lace or silk tops, if you wish to see a particular combination just let me know and we will send you a photo of it on the mannequin.

The belt featured is the Nettle in silk satin.

Dry clean only. Iron with a lot of steam and on a medium setting. Please test on an inner part of the garment.

The skirt is entirely custom made to measure, so it will be sure to fit you perfectly and match your exact needs and requests.
