Sample sale over on Etsy!

sample sale wedding dress

It’s sample sale time!

I just put a few dresses on sale in my Etsy shop! It’s that time of year when the bustle of bridal season lets off a bit, and I get to create entirely new ideas, experiment with new fabrics and see where inspiration leads. This also means my showroom’s racks are on the verge of bursting with dresses and I need to let go of the ones I no longer wish to keep for in-person brides to try on.

I’ve put them on sale at 50% off, go see it any meet your desires!

First photoshoot in my new studio!

My in-studio photo setting is finally complete! It’s taken quite a few months and a lot of research but it’s finally all set up. Today I tried it out for the first time and I am so happy with what came out! I cant wait to experiment some more, and get some of those new pieces I have been working on online!

My website’s birthday + A sale

Larimeloom birthday sale

Today is my website’s birthday! (and I also sent out my first ever newsletter!!!)
It’s been one crazy year since I launched it, and the learning curve has been steep and intense. Self taught as I am in all things business, design, marketing, sewing, designing, e-commerce, I follow where the work leads me and roll up my sleeves and jump in.

Fully booked!

Sooooooo….. I’m fully booked! Yay! I’m closing my Etsy shop till the end of May in order to finish up all the beautiful wedding dresses that have been ordered, and then take a couple weeks of vacation (hopefully Madagascar…. we will see!!)

Aaand…. it’s made! A sneak peek in to the making of a custom outfit.

Aaand…. it’s made! The custom wedding outfit, that is.

After I draped out the pattern for the blouse yesterday, getting the v-neck and shoulder folds exactly the way I wanted them, marking everything out and drawing out a nice armhole, I proceeded to remove the muslin from the dress form.

I ironed it out flat, and traced the shape and markings on to paper, smoothing out the lines and correcting the curves as I did, and then I added seam allowances.

Spring.

As I look out of the window, the chill of winter still lingering all around the studio, I can’t help but feel it and smile.

Outdoors, Nature is stirring, preparing for the warm season ahead. Snow is now rain, the sun is warmer, when it’s out, spring is around the corner, and even though it might take a little bit yet, I can clearly feel the signs.

The custom made process

When hearing about my job, the first thing people ask me is how do I manage to get the sizing of my clothing right, without ever seeing my clients in person.

Well, here’s a peek in to my process, and in to how it works for me!
